Eating meat

A vegetarian diet has many health benefits such as a lower risk of heart disease, stroke, or type 2 diabetes. However, a new study finds that for people of 80 years or older, there are physiological changes in the body and there seems to be an advantage of eating at least some meat in order to make it to an age of 100. Why this is so is not well understood yet. Possibly the calcium and the proteins in the meat may reduce the risk of fractures and of malnutrition.
