Malaria causes more than 400,000 deaths a year, mostly children in Africa. Now the World Health Organization (WHO) has given the go ahead for a vaccination campaign. In pilots with more than 2.3 million doses, the vaccine showed a reduction of 30 percent in severe malaria. It is expected that many lives will be saved by the vaccination campaign.
