Domestication of Wheat

By genetic sequencing the changes in wheat have been detected that occurred in its domestication about 10,000 years ago in the so-called Fertile Crescent. In particular, the genes have been isolated that make spikes to shatter in wild wheat, but to remain intact in domesticated wheat.
