Mangroves capture carbon

New research finds that mangroves and saltmarshes can capture double the amount of carbon dioxide as previously thought mainly in form of bicarbonate. Since this mitigates the greenhouse effect, the protection of mangrove and saltmarsh areas is very important in fighting climate change.
