Krill are small animals of typically about one to two centimetres. However, they live in huge swarms and eat a lot of plankton and excrement annually bound carbon dioxide combined of estimated 23 megatons of carbon corresponding to the emission of 35 million cars. The WWF calls for better protection of krill.
