Studying different cohorts of some 150,000 old people in the US, Europe, and England, it has been found that the dementia risk seems to be declining. For instance, people living in the US between 81 and 85 that were born between 1890 and 1913 had a 25.1 percent risk of dementia, compared to a risk of 15.5 of those born between 1939 and 1943. It had not been investigated what the reasons for this decline may be.
