Cardiac arrest may come without warning; for this reason it is important to find a way to predict problems with the heart to take preventive action. Now a new computational method has been developed that needs only the heartbeat intervals (more exactly ultra-short term heart fluctuations) during one minute at rest and during different stages of physical activity. It can significantly better estimate the long-term risk than previous low intervention methods.
