New gel for cartilage regeneration

A new material has been produced that can be used as a gel to be put in joints - such as the knee or the hip - so that it can serve as cartilage while the body regenerates its own cartilage. To this end it has to satisfy three properties: stiffness, toughness, and biodegradability.
