Migraine and hormones

New research with mice found that a particular hormone, progesterone, increases the sensitivity to touch and pain. Levels of this hormone are also heightened in women when menstruating. This insight might offer a treatment for women with migraines during menstruation, deactivating corresponding progesterone receptors.
