Insulin production via cow milk

Artificial insulin production is complex and now scientists managed to genetically modify a cow embryo so that the cow after birth, growing up, and going into lactation produces milk with proteins from which insulin can be produced. A herd of such cows could produce enough insulin to satisfy the global needs.
