Leprosy causes organ growth in armadillos

| Scientists found that leprosy bacteria have the ability to make an armadillo's liver grow to almost double its size in order to have more tissue to infect. The cells are healthy and fully functional. If understood how the bacteria do this this might open a path to regenerate liver cells. related: #liver #leprosy #regeneration |
