It is not only exemplary for how to combat climate change, but also made a significant contribution in slowing arctic warming, since the chemical that damages the ozone layer is also a potent greenhouse gase.

Saving rare trees in Australia

In Australia, there are some very rare, very old trees in the Blue Mountains. The tree species, Wollemi pine trees, are from the time of the dinosaurs and have survived millions of years, but were now in the unprecedented fires in Australia threatened to be wiped out. However, in a coordinated effort of fire fighters they have now been saved.
